Privacy Policy

Last updated: [22 10 2026]

This Privacy Policy explains how [Business legal name] ("Sarzo", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use the Sarzo mobile applications and website (together, the "Platform"). By using the Platform you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Customers: your mobile phone number (used for OTP-based login); your name (if provided); delivery addresses and location coordinates; order history, wallet balance and transaction details; support messages and any photos you attach to them; and device and app information collected automatically (such as app version, device model and crash logs).

Shop Partners: your name, mobile number, shop name, address and location, shop photos and product images, and business details such as GSTIN, PAN, FSSAI licence number and trade licence number where you provide them, and payout details needed to settle your earnings.

Delivery Partners and Workers: your name, mobile number, address, category of work, a photo of a government ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID or Driving Licence) and the ID type you choose, and, for delivery partners, your device location while you are online or delivering an order.

Payments: online payments are handled by our payment partner (Razorpay). We receive the payment status, payment ID and amount, but not your full card number, UPI PIN or net-banking credentials.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to create and manage your account; process, deliver and support your orders; show you shops, products and workers near you; send order updates and other notifications; process payments, wallet credits and refunds; verify and approve Partners; prevent fraud and misuse; meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations; and improve the Platform.

3. Location Data

Customers: we use your current location or the address you select to show nearby shops and workers and to enable delivery. You can control location permission in your device settings, though some features may then not work.

Delivery Partners: we use your location while you are online or carrying out a delivery so that orders can be assigned and tracked.

4. Identity Documents (Delivery Partners and Workers)

If you register as a delivery partner or worker, you must upload a photo of a government ID. We use it only to verify your identity before approving your account. It is stored in private storage that is not publicly accessible, and only authorised Sarzo staff can view it, through the admin system. We do not share it with customers or shops. If you use Aadhaar, you must mask it before uploading, so that only the last four digits are visible. We keep it while your account is active and for a limited period afterwards where the law or fraud prevention requires, and then delete it.

5. What Shops and Delivery Partners Can See

To protect your privacy, the shop fulfilling your order does not see your phone number or full address on its order screens; it sees only the order items and the delivery area (PIN code). The delivery partner who delivers your order sees your name, delivery address and phone number, only for that delivery. Workers you book see the details needed to reach you for that booking. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Payments, Wallet and Refunds

Payments are processed by Razorpay under its own security standards (including PCI-DSS). If you use the Sarzo wallet, we keep a record of credits, debits and refunds. Refunds for cancelled or returned orders go to the original payment method or to your Sarzo wallet, as described in our Terms of Service.

7. Service Providers

We use trusted service providers to run the Platform: Google Firebase (phone login and push notifications), Razorpay (payments), and cloud hosting and file-storage providers (to store data and images). They process data only on our behalf and under their own security commitments.

8. Sharing of Information

Apart from the sharing described above, we share information with government, law-enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by law, and where needed to protect the safety and rights of our users and the Platform. We may also share information as part of a business transfer, with the same protections.

9. Data Storage, Security and Retention

Your data is stored on secure servers with access restricted to authorised personnel. Identity documents are kept in private storage. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Some records, such as order and invoice records needed for GST, tax and accounting compliance, are kept for the period the law requires even after your account is deleted.

10. Your Rights and Choices

You can view and update your profile, addresses and notification preferences in the app. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, and you can withdraw your consent. To delete your account and associated personal data, use the account deletion option in the app, or submit a request on our account deletion page at https://sarzo.in/delete-account. You can also contact us using the details below. We may retain information that we are legally required to keep, as explained above. Your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law are not limited by this Policy.

11. Children's Privacy

Sarzo is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and where a change is significant we will also notify you in the app. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted means you accept the revised Policy.
